Clearly the C/Fortran I/O doesn't work properly, the string parsing doesn't work properly in the main.f90 file of WHIZARD, to be found in src/whizard-core. The PGI compiler had this problem for 1-2 years with our code. We are testing our code in a CI with gcc-8.2, everything is fine there. I don't know whether the fink build is ok, though.
