Hi Pauline, I had a pictus gecko once and their great little geckos. They can become as tame as leopard geckos, taking food from your hand and what not. From my experience they are voracious little eaters. Hows your pictus appetite?
When I first bought my pictus gecko, she was really shy and wouldn't come out of her cage unless it was night. At night she was really active. Within a few weeks I was able to hand feed her! What kind of setup do you have? The squeeks that you hear, I'm not sure what that could be. What sex is the pictus? It's known that these geckos can be vocal. Could just be a gecko call. Another thing about these geckos is they are really really easy to breed. They can breed all year if you let them. That's why you have seperate males from females. Puts too much stress on the female. You can hold pictus geckos, as long as the gecko isn't skittish. They are fast little geckos. Just let him/her settle in and in a few weeks she'll be very tame. Unfortunately my gecko died from being eggbound, impaction or parasite. after she layed a clutch of eggs. Pictus geckos are notorious for retaining sperm. The petstore claimed it was their fault and the problem must have been there to start. They housed a male pictus with a female pictus. You should only house male and female if you want to breed. Otherwise it can be very stressful on the female. _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ########################################################################### THE GLOBAL GECKO ASSOCIATION LISTSERV WebSite: www.gekkota.com Archive: [EMAIL PROTECTED]/ The GGA takes no responsibility for the contents of these postings. ###########################################################################
