Have you tried using the install CD? I ask because it contains not only gEDA/gaf 20050313, but also other nice EDA apps like ngspice, PCB, Icarus Verilog, etc. > One point however. If you use it, the install CD will determine if you need root permission into the install directory (in your case /usr/local/geda) and ask you for the root pw so it can install the stuff. Some people consider this a misfeature. In this case, however, it seems that if you had an installer tell you before hand that you needed to be root to install into /usr/local/geda, that would be a good thing. Right? Stuart
