I need some sound advice. When I start KDE I geta cryptic warning about sound. Clicking on an audio file or an mpg in a konqueror window crashes konqueror (konq is set to open these files with kmplayer)but if I do: mplayer /someclip/mpg the file plays with sound. This has been happening for the last several days since a string of power outages. I saw the above regarding KRec and decided to check it out. when I try to start krec from an xterm get an error very much like the one I get when KDE starts: $ krec mcop warning: user defined signal handler found for SIG_PIPE, overriding /tmp/mcop-ernie is accessible owned by user. Trying to open an mpg with kmplayer gives the same error message with an additional line: KMPlayerViewStatic::~KMPlayerViewStatic Additionally, KDEsystem notifications aren't working either. -- Regards, Ernie 100% Microsoft and Intel free -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
