For completeness, depscan.sh is mentioned here. It is used to create a dependency cache that basically is a map of dependencies between services.
It should be run whenever a new rc-script is added to /etc/init.d/, but since rc-update automatically calls it, most users should not need to run it. </snip>
So either run /etc/init.d/depscan.sh or rc-update add postfix default to rebuild the init scripts dependencies.
