Gentooers:

For some reason or another--either of which are unbeknownst to
me--while running 'emerge -u world,' gcc-3.3.2-r5 just will not
compile. I've done a little bit of messing with CFLAGS, to no avail.
So, I'm using the handy dandy --skipfirst option with emerge to
*hopefully* plow through the rest of the list. And, of course, this now
brings up some questions.

A] Are there certain CFLAGS that should NEVER be used with gcc?

2] Am I actually going to run into any problems with the updated
programs if I don't install gcc-3.3.2-r5?

D] Why is gcc-3.3.2-r5 at the top of the list for 'emerge -u world' but
'emerge -u gcc' says it must update pam, pam-login, hashalot,
util-linux, baselayout, and glibc first--all of which actually follow
gcc in the list of packages to be updated by 'emerge -u world'?

4] Will I have to rebuild my packages or run revdep-rebuild after
finally getting gcc-3.3.2-r5 to emerge one day?

On another note, I think the Gentoo Devs are doing a damn spiffy job.
I'd like to figure out how to run my car on Gentoo. Anyone care to
maintain?
