I'd never even tried to use home/end in a shell, but you're right. Going OT from this already OT sub-thread, I don't like using home/end, on destkop keyboards they are out of the way and on laptops they often require a double key press, so it's simple to use Ctrl-A/E to start with. > The "Del" key doesn't work either.
