This does not mean that everybody agreed. However, all arguments had been exchanged before, so repeating them would just have been pointless: Eventually a decision had to be made, and I am confident that it was made by the portage team in the full awareness of the positive and negative consequences of that decision, because all portage developers had participated in the previous discussion.
