I'll resync next month and do an upgrade, thank for the pointer.

The black border on the scan (that I'm concern with right now) I think
it has to do with Brother driver, as I have SnapScan S1500 and the
border are white (suitable for printing, faxing etc.) I asked Brother
support for a solution, will wait for their reply.
