On a secondary gentoo partition I've unmerged coreutils too, made all the symlinks, and am trying to remerge the package with: ebuild /usr/portage/sys-apps/coreutils/coreutils-5.3.0-r2.ebuild merge And here too it keeps failing at different places all the time.
