And altougth the GS is less powerful than the GT, it's only for a little (it's basically a 6800 overclocked to almost the clock speed of the GT). And it has 256 mb of memory. I don't buy the texture-from-pixmap explanation; I remember that with Beryl it was *orders* of magnitude more smooth than my i915. The problem is Compiz Fusion and/or the version of X.org.
