Hi Hari,

Christian is correct. When dealing with BLOB data, Oracle uses the Temp
tablespace and does not free it up until the user who created the BLOB session
is closed. As you can imagine, in a JNDI scenario this could be an issue as
there could be a situation where the connection is open for a very long time.

I have created a plugin which resolves this issue for georaster - but I was
waiting on the outcome of the merge between Christian and Simones code before
releasing - I believe I may have sent this to you already?

>From my testing, it works with 10g and 11g, and most importantly, the BLOB
>issue in the TEMP tablespace is not present.

Regards,
Steve

Subject: Re: [Geoserver-users] Geoserver 2.1.0 stops very frequently

Some additional Info.

Here is the Oracle Function causing the problem
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e11827/geor_ref.htm#CHEDHBII

Geoserver uses this function to export the image into a BLOB.

Cheers
Christian
