I use ArcSDE with ORACLE. Therefore I need the ArsSDE SDK AND ORACLE Instant Driver to connect to geo-db. Those OrACLE Instant Drivers also have to be in java-library path. Maybe you need to add additional database-specific binaries to your java-library path for establishing the low level database connection.
