Let's try to sum up a little. Here we have Justin, who does not care about jaxb bindings at all, that cannot perform his work anymore in his IDE of choice, using jdk 1.5, which is the one you are supposed to use for gt2 trunk development. For him the jaxb introduction in metadata was source of troubles, he's affected, and there does not seem to be any good way out? This does not sound like something you can easily ignore... most of the gt2/gs developers are using Eclipse.
