Andrea I have been unable to provide a resolution for some Java 6 api changes; specifically with JDBC connection interface. This interface has changed to add new methods; which refer to new data structures that are not present in Java 5.
So my impression is that we cannot offer a single source solution to Java 5 and 6 right now? > I'm pretty sure some of these tests fail on JDK 6. > GT2 is supposed to be built with java 5 (to ensure > java 5 compatibility), unfortunately due to a few changes > in jdk 6 it does not actually build on it. > Atm we don't have the resources to keep it building on > both jdk, we need a jdk 6 person that finds the issues, > fixes them, and keeps gt2 building on that jdk as well > (so, a question of lack of resources). > > For example Christian is doing an excellent job at > providing patches that are making, bit by bit, improve > the gt2 building situation on IBM jdk. > It's not there yet, but it's improving :) > > Cheers > Andrea ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stay on top of everything new and different, both inside and around Java (TM) technology - register by April 22, and save $200 on the JavaOne (SM) conference, June 2-5, 2009, San Francisco. 300 plus technical and hands-on sessions.
