Yes, that does look like it might be useful David. I haven't used doxygen since renouncing C++ (last millenium) but if it's compatible with javadoc that would be cool. There are only a couple of custom GeoTools tags that I can think of and I don't think we'd want to use reference them from the docs. So as long as they were just skipped that would be fine. Jody and I have ran up against one or two sphinx limitations (or at least fiddly bits) pretty quickly and I've been thinking we'd have to brave writing our own extensions.
