We don't have a roadmap either. In order to have a roadmap we'd have to all be
working for some kind of foundation that allows us to plan some months ahead.

Btw, I don't really think GeoSolutions will have the time to release 1.1
anytime soon. I'd suggest we go ahead with the release and we'll upgrade
to imageio-ext 1.1 when it's actually the time.

About the idea that we used imageio-ext in the WMS shootout, that is a
misconception:
we initially planned to in order to support bigtiff, but then one team
complained
they could not support them so the benchmark was eventually run against
normal tiff.

Also, about the idea that GT2 was ready for release this summer, well, anyone
not living on another planet has always seen a truckload of changing coming
down just before FOSS4G, so I don't think any warning about that was really
needed, it was business as usual.
