This is a fairly common problem with guinea pigs. They, like humans, must
get all their vit C from diet/supplements. Sick pigs should have higher
doses of C during the course of an illness, sometimes up to 100mg daily.
When they recover, they should be weaned slowly down to the normal dose,
because suddenly dropping down to the normal dose can cause signs of scurvy
(vit C deficiency) to emerge. It's definitely possible!
