Hello list!  :)

I read the tips on keeping gerbils' nails nice and trim, but today as I was
holding Hamlet, I happened to look at his back paw.  One of his nails had
grown so long that it had curled under and kind of to the side (so it made a
circle-type shape, but had I let it continue to grow, the tip would have
grown beside the toe rather than into it..if that makes sense).  Another nail
was curled up like that as well.  I think I spent about half an hour or more
trying to hold him still long enough that I could cut off the curly part!  He
tried to bite me several times, though I can't say I blame him...I probably
freaked him out!

Anyway, is there an easier way to trim gerbil nails when they've grown too
long?  I was thinking maybe having one person hold the gerbil while you hold
their paw and clip might be easier, but it also might be more stressful on
the gerbil.  So I'd like to find an easy, stress-free way, just in case any
more nails grow too long!

I *did* finally manage to clip off the curly parts of Hamlet's two
nails...just enough so that he's able to wear them down normally again!  And
then I checked the rest of the gerbils for curling nails, but they were all
fine!  ;o)

Thank you!  :)
