With this magic incantation gForth starts and executes files OK, thanks!

I see utime and cputime are in the kernel, so maybe I don't 
need the assembler. 

Commandline editing can be added without too much work as 
terminal control words seem to be in already, it might be 
just a question of finding out the controlkey bind mechanism? 

The doc is in info format, html would have been easier.
I can of course read the ps, but that is very slow for 
searching. I may have to convert it all to pdf :-)
