I just tried the current development version on a W2K machine, with the user input device being an xterm, and the arrow keys as well as ^P and ^N worked. For the arrow keys, maybe the windows console or whatever you are using produces different esc-sequences (which ones?) than the xterm, but ^P and ^N should work in any case. > Some results :-) > > C:\Program Files\gforth\gforth-0.6.1>gf > Gforth 0.6.1, Copyright (C) 1995-2003 Free Software Foundation, Inc. > Gforth comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details type `license' > Type `bye' to exit > include ertlbench.fs > SIEVE 6324 ms elapsed > BUBBLE 5691 ms elapsed > MATRIX 3516 ms elapsed > FIB 5571 ms elapsed ok > > C:\Program Files\gforth>gforth-fast -m 2000000 > GForth 0.5.0, Copyright (C) 1995-2000 Free Software Foundation, Inc. > GForth comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details type `license' > Type `bye' to exit > include ertlbench.fs > SIEVE 8651 ms elapsed > BUBBLE 9596 ms elapsed > MATRIX 8832 ms elapsed > FIB 10323 ms elapsed ok > > For reference, Win32Forth, Version: 3.5 Build: 0085 > include ertlbench.fs > SIEVE Elapsed time: 21000 ms > BUBBLE Elapsed time: 26117 ms > MATRIX Elapsed time: 20029 ms > FIB Elapsed time: 28872 ms > > About 2.5 times slower. That was on the P54-166, right? The difference between W32Forth and Gforth-0.5.0 should be small on the Athlon. - anton --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
