Hey Rob, A close friend of mine has a similar prescription to yours (I think it's about a -6.00) and she recently had some Trivex lenses made that's she's extremely happy with. I know Eyeglass Lens Direct re- lenses frames with Trivex - I recommend sending them an email, Steve Villani has been extremely helpful and I'm sure he can help point you in the right direction based upon your prescription - http://www.eyeglasslensdirect.com/Trilogy-Trivex-Aspheric-p/sv53taex.htm
For a good breakdown of lens materials with their abbe values and manufacturer names, see wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrective_lens#Ophthalmic_material_property_tables -John On Mar 14, 2:54 am, Rob Morton <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi all, > > It's about time to replace my old pair of glasses, and since I'd > rather not waste $400 I see no reason not to shop online instead of at > an overpriced retailer.
