You're prescription would benefit from higher index lenses, it's not an exact science but anything over -5/+3 usually benefit from higher index lenses. Sticking with a smaller lens width also helps, as I'm sure you're aware.
I also have noticed that many frames are 50mm width and up, these are too wide for me also and I suspect it's a fashion trend that's working against us. I would argue that few people need a lens much wider than 50mm. Try Zenni's 4395: http://www.zennioptical.com/cart/product.php?productid=705&cat=0&page=1 or http://www.lbweyewear.com/Products/PLASTIC/HALFrim/WHAP-TD637.html or http://www.lbweyewear.com/Products/PLASTIC/TD/WF-614.html or http://www.lbweyewear.com/Products/PLASTIC/TD/WF-626.html or maybe http://www.globaleyeglasses.com/glasses/IN-114.html or http://www.globaleyeglasses.com/glasses/Kipling-2.html.
