First off, I'm sorry to hear that your first online order went so
badly. It really is a wonderful way to buy eyeglasses, with a couple
of minor caveats...like the inability to try them on, in person.

I have not purchased from EBD, but have read good things about them.
Other than the fact that you chose frames that were far too big for
you (your mistake, not theirs), was there anything else with your
glasses? EBD seems to have a reasonable return policy...especially
considering their low profit margin. It does concern me that their
online fitting room software didn't reveal the problem,
though...that's what it's there, for.

My usual suggestion for most new buyers is to purchase a pair of very
inexpensive single vision glasses (which can be had as low as $6.95)
so they get a little experience under their belts. Single vision
reading glasses or sunglasses are useful to even those who wear
multifocal lenses. The results are usually very positive, and then
they feel more comfortable purchasing the photochromic progressive
bifocals at a higher cost.

Incoherent as it seems, I suppose my point is simple. I hope you
won't let this one bad experience sour you on the whole online
experience. It does work...but it takes a little bit of experience to
be able to choose flattering frames from nothing more than a
photograph and some dimensional measurements.

P.S. Could you post a photo of yourself in the glasses? And, maybe a
link to the frame style on the EBD site?
