2. Comments on translation strings
Maybe I didn't see. Could you pelase point one example ?
You may see NORSH string now. You will see comments like "//TRANS: THE
COMMENT"
6. 'Mio', 'Kio' and 'Gio'
I suppose these are french abreviation for Megabytes, Kilobytes and
Gigabytes. In the source translation file, it would be to rename them
to their english equivalent: 'MB', 'KB' and 'GB'.
It was the universal Si prefixes :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octet_%28computing%29
So not needed to be renamed I think.
Well, on this point I respectfully disagree.
I understand these abreviations were not invented in the GLPI project
and, as mentioned, I understand it is very used in France (and some
other places). In fact, the URL you provided it states:
"In France, French Canada and Romania, octet is used in common
language instead of byte when the 8-bit sense is required, for
example, a megabyte (MB) is called a megaoctet (Mo)."
So, I'm just try to say that, in my opinion, 'MB', 'KB' and 'GB' would
do a better job as source string for translation. Then translators of
fr_FR, fr_CA, and others, could easily translate then french
equivalent, and .
This subject have already been discussed a long time ago but could have
another solution now.
I have honestly no real point of view on that subject.
Any other point of view ?
Maybe could you send a special request on [email protected] mailing list
to have more points of view ?
10. "Watchers group manager" or "Watcher's group manager" ?
<snip>
Itis to select all managers defined in all watcher groups.
The correct string is maybe "manager of watchers group"
I think it doesn't make much difference having "manager" in the
beginning or in the end of the string. In matter of fact, the way it
is today looks good.
However, I think the bigger problem is "watchers" or "requesters". It
is plural form of "watcher". And it is different from "watcher's",
which is possessive. Informal chat on the internet might give wrong
idea, as even Americans would write "watchers, which is not correct.
I don't know if I was clear enough, so I found this page that might
explain better than me: http://www.meredith.edu/grammar/plural.htm
So correct string will be "Watcher group manager" ?
(new comments below)
11. Plural-form expression
Transifex is inserting " nplurals=2; plural=(n > 1) " as plural form
in Brazillian Portuguese PO files, but it should be " nplurals=2;
plural=(n != 1) ". It is not correct, but I'm not sure if that's
something for you to fix, or Transifex team. Could you please take a
look at it ?
By the way: http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/l10n/pluralforms
It was transifex team. We have no access to plural forms settings.
12. Translation of OCS-NG for GLPI
Comments related to this project, in Transifex, can be done here for
you, or is there another proper place/maillist/bug-tracking ?
You could post it here.
