It *was* a little harsh.

Maybe you didn't intend it to sound that way, but that's how it was.

I agree it would've been better if Lori had done some verification, but that's
not sufficient cause to flame.

It would have been much better to politely (not brusquely) point out that she
could/should have avoided propogating a keyboard-transmitted disease, and even
to have explained how to check (as several other folks did).

Posting to a list without an iota of research is equally absurd to flaming
without an iota of consideration or positive contribution.  IMNSHO.
