No, I think he meant what he said. He has admins who know NT, he has a
hard time finding and/or knowing whether a person can admin Linux
servers, MS software costs are very low, the systems are working, and
under these circumstances it makes no sense to him to use Linux. Until
he can see a real benefit from Linux, can be shown a real problem using
NT on the servers, and can find admins for the same budget costs; there
is no rational reason to use Linux. Based upon the facts as he sees
them, he is correct. What needs to happen is more info on the
advantages of Linux and a way to show those NT admins can run Linux
without expensive training and certification at school expense. The old
"MS stuff doesn't work well" routine falls on deaf ears in many
contexts. A more positive approach is needed. He has a smooth,
functional system as far as he can tell. Indeed it may well be such.
