When you say it looks fine here, do you mean that the dvi I sent in my previous
e-mail looks fine on your machine ?

I'm fine with my local texmf directory, and just to be sure I also checked the
global font directory.
The fact of the matter is I do not have any such thing as an ehrhardt file in
the whole texmf tree which itself contains my local texmf tree (I looked for
*ehr*). Also there is no file as such in the directories you mentioned (or
equivallent) they only contain subdirectories.
What I did though as a good measure was to delete all *feta* files in the
localtexmf font directory. Then I used the MiKTeX maintenance utilities to
re-create all format files, to refresh the filename database, then did another
initextmf -u, launched yap, then another initexmf -u and got the same result as
before :-(( that is : strange note heads and misplaced symbols all over the
place (key signatures and misc. weird signs I surely did not include since I
have no clue what they mean in music).
I still don't know what I'm doing wrong.
The lily related shell variables seem OK - the same as for version 1.2.0 except
the version/directory and except for the addition of GS_FONTPATH - see below the
sig for details if you wish.
