I am referring to my comments on Newspaper Headlines 20-02-08 about Taleigao mob attacking Panjim police Headquarters....etc. Quote Re: Parrikar's and Dr. Wilfred D'Souza's stance taking Babush's side: Politicians are one thro' thick and thin; only people are the scapegoats Unquote By the above I have put Manohar Parrikar and Dr. Wilfred D'Souza in the same basket. Why?? Earlier, before the news papers came out with the full blown news, I received Digital Goa's SMS news service (While I was in Mandrem attending Remo's 'No sound pollutuuion show') and its text goes like this:
Quote BJP demands judicial inquiry into ill treatment to Babush & Mayor by police. Parrikar condemned police assault on Babush. Police acted unconstitutionally, he said Unquote Next morning, when the papers arrived (GT) I went thro' Dr. Wilfred's statement in the frant page box and gave a go by to Manohar Parrikar's knowing what it would say. Therefore my comment. Now, after I went thro' Dr. Anand's post and the response by Nigel Britto, I scanned through Manohar Parrikar's statement (box) GT- 20/2 and it is a complete volte-face on the earlier SMS that I got. Two things: 1. Either Digital Goa has totally misreported Manohar Parrikar when it sent out the above SMS. 2. Or there has been a complete change of heart on Manohar Parrikar's side from the earlier statement he made and the latter. I extend my appologies if it was the former. floriano goasuraj ----- Original Message ----- From: "anand virgincar" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2008 1:27 PM Subject: [Goanet] Anarchy in Goa Dear Goanetters, You must all be aware by now of the horrifying events in Panaji yesterday ........... "" Manohar Parrikar is the only politician who seems to have come out of these sad events with any degree of credibility . I would say that even if I detested him and the BJP with the same visceral hate that some on this forum exhibit. I hope fellow goanetters ( particularly from the other side of the divide ) agree. ""
