In today's papers, the government has decided to ban two ads for being obscene. 
Earlier they had banned another ad, and the TV networks were asked to carry a 
sort of apology on their screens - which they did. But the same networks will 
have people on their shows defending the right of artisits to depict Hindu gods 
and goddesses in nude and erotic positions. Why do they not use the same 
yardsticks in defending the TV ads? Does this not smack of height of hypocrisy? 
I am simply amazed that these networks do not even come close to recognising 
their own double-standards.
