It not only leads to I-have-to-prove-myself-right recriminations, but takes away attention from the main issue at hand. I am interested in understanding Priolkar and his work, mainly because it has had such an impact on our lives and our understanding of ourselves. As in JC's case, when I first came across the book in the 1980s, it made me deeply ashamed about the faith tradition that I came from. Of course, each and every religion (and non-religious ideology) has its flaws.
