Did you use daterestrict or dateRestrict? Because the parameter would be case-sensitive, and the documentation indicates the latter. If that doesn't work, it would be helpful to know what you've done (i.e., a link to your page or, if that is absolutely impossible, a pastebin of the relevant code), what language you're working in, and a few other basic details if we're going to assist you.
