i believe you get one chance and one chance only to insert a g:id alias for the atom:id -- this is a name-space related restriction.
the error should be generated if an attempt is made to update an item by using an existing atom:id plus a g:id alias when there's no existing g:id alias -- as if inserting anew. there's no error generated if an attempt is made to update an item by using an existing atom:id without using a g:id alias -- then yes, the existing item will be overwritten -- missing attributes are considered deletions. at least that's how i read the documentation: http://code.google.com/apis/base/starting-out.html http://code.google.com/apis/base/starting-out.html#dataname --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Base Data API" group.
