I've scoured your web site and searched every way I can think of in this discussion group. There are no explicit instructions for installing an update over an existing installation. It may be as simple as double-clicking on the package, but explicit instructions would, IMO, be a good addition to your web site. My experience is that installing a package over an existing installation does not universally produce good results. I'm experienced enough to follow the safer path of running the uninstaller first, but less experienced Mac users might not do that without explicit instructions.
Also, since Growl was installed--with my consent--by another application and that app downloaded and installed only the pref-pane, I wonder if that would affect the update instructions, too. Anyway, just a suggestion.
