New Sharp Blue Adidas Absolado Predator Football Boots Range Reviewed Posted: 18 Jul 2011 08:29 AM PDT With all the talk recently in the Lovell Soccer office being that of the new latest of the adidas adiPower Predator football boots, It wasn’t till I was perusing the images of the AdiPower Predator take down, the Absolado, that I realised what a cracking boot this is for the price, so instead of just reviewing the top end style, I thought I would run my eye over adidas’s new entry level offering. The first thing that surprises you about the Absolado range is how much it looks like the top of the range AdiPower football boot, The colours are well replicated and look exactly the same. The adidas Absolado’s really are one of the best looking take down football boots I have seen in a long time. Comfort Fit? The first time you put on the Adidas Absolado football boots you notice they fit really well and after walking around in them for a short while they actually seem to mould around your fore foot. I don’t have the thinnest of feet but found these comfortable across the front of the foot. Also, as the Absolado has a leather toe box you know that after a few games the leather will wear in and become more supple. On the inside of the boot, the adidas Absolado has a plastic coating which is meant to replicate that of its big brothers rubber power elements, not sure if this is just for show, but I have to say it does add a nice touch. When reviewing a boot, I do like to try the boots on with football Socks and shin pads just to give a more accurate size guide. I’m a size 8 in 90% of boots and these were no different, so a good sized football Boot. Normally when I break in a new pair of football boots, it's pretty uncomfortable. However, due to the moulded sock liner this wasn’t a problem at all. No rubbing on the ankle or bottom of the foot, which is where I normally experience problems. Looks Whereas the traditional initial colourway release for a new Predator football boot is the classic Black/Red/White, the new Adidas Adipower Predator football boot range has been launched in the ‘stand out from the crowd’ Sharp Blue/Electricity/Black so you can spot them from a mile away! This isn’t always a bad thing though, as players on the pitch are more likely to pick your feet out and notice you more. The Absolado range all feature off centre lacing which seems to be becoming the norm nowadays. Even though the boots are brightly coloured, they seem to have a Retro look about them. Final Opinion What the Absolado offers you is all the essentials you would need in a football boot. Great comfort, visually appealing and an entry level price point of £44.99 (Senior) or£29.99 (Jnr). If your looking for a boot to play local football the adidas absolado is a cracking boot and is available in Soft Ground, Firm Ground, Astro Turf and Indoor soleplates.
