Hi,
I always work in english but most of you know that I am a native spanish
(Castilian) speaker.
Some other Guix user has raised the concern that the Guix manual is
written using exclusive language. In particular, using the non-neutral
feminine plural. I checked and it is true. For example, right in the
introduction:
> Guix facilita a usuarias sin privilegios la instalación...
According to the current global consensus on the Spanish language, that
sentence translates to:
"Guix helps female users without privileges the installation..."
Which is factually true, but inaccurate. We also help non female users
do this.
We could have said: "personas" (people), "quienes lo utilizan" (who uses
it), or simply "usuarios" (users), which is the most natural way to say it.
Instead, someone chose to use an exclusive form. Which goes against our CoC:
* Using welcoming and inclusive language
I don't know what else to say.
I consider this a bug that we should fix.
