How hard is 'hard'? FTL? Reactionless thrusters? Aliens? Rayguns?
Venusian swamp-dinosaurs?

What mediums are you interested in? Novels? Short stories? TV series
or movies? Webcomics (such as Schlock Mercenary)?

One online resource you may want to try is the SFCONSIM-L YahooGroup (
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/sfconsim-l/ ), mil-sci-fi gaming
buffs. Another might be the newsgroup rec.arts.sf.written (available
through http://groups.google.ca/group/rec.arts.sf.written if nowhere
else).

Thank you for your time,
