The name "shell" is specific to the Transhuman Space setting, which
highlights the fact that a disembodied AI can switch bodies with
ease -- today an armored crawler on Venus, tomorrow a humanoid on
the Moon, next week a bushbot in the Belt ...

As fas as I know (and I think I would know) the new edition doesn't
have an equivalent of the 3E VE/VX/RO/ME/GT/T:S family. So far I've
limited my 4E construction activities to 'copies' of 3E starships
with the Spaceships rules.

Here is some old stuff:

Sternmetal Type 12a Minerbot v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL10)
  Copyright 2008 by Onno Meyer

The Sternmetal Minerbot series is used on inhospitable planets. The
Type 12a sets explosive charges, the Type 12b removes the ore and the
Type 12c lays tracks in the newly cleared tunnel. A central computer
coordinates a swarm of semi-independent robots.
The Type 12a has an articulated chassis with four tracks. It mounts
two tool arms with hydraulic drills and two manipulator arms to reach
back into the explosives compartment. Imaging radars and an inertial
tracker are used to navigate in twisting tunnels.
The power cell lasts for 325 minutes at top speed.

Subassemblies: Body +1, four Tracks +0, two Arms +0, two Arms -2.

Maintenance Drone Mk.II v1.0 (TL 9)
    Copyright 1999 by Onno Meyer

Small size is a real asset for many maintenance and repair jobs. Since
it is difficult to build a robot that is both small and smart, this little

drone is usually operated by remote control by a bigger computer. The flat
body with six limbs gives the drone a bug-like appearance, but on close
inspection the service hatches, the sensors and a combined carrying handle
and safety line attachment point destroy this initial impression. The arms
have small hands with four fingers and two opposable thumbs.
The drone uses GURPS Robots TL 9 [Nov. 1998 errata].

Delgado Ice Spider v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL10)
  Copyright 2005 by Onno Meyer

The Ice Spider is a hydrogen mining vehicle for use on ice asteroids
and small moons. It combines laser cutters, an electrolysis system and
tanks in an eight-limbed chassis, hence the name.
In asteroid mining operations, the Spider uses thrusters to maneuver
and leg motors to grapple the asteroid. On a moon, it uses the legs to
walk to an ice deposit. Once there, the four 1.8-megajoule lasers are
used to melt the ice which is then fed to the electrolysis system. The
Ice Spider has tanks for 4.5 dtons of hydrogen, which are filled at a
rate of 1 dton per hour.
