As someone else suggested, put the end of a paper clip or a
toothpick in the tiny hole on the right side of the
BookSense (It is toward the bottom of the unit.) and press
gently. At the same time you are doing this, hold down the 4 key for
about 20 seconds. Hold down the button in the hole for only about 5
seconds. This is probably an SD card issue. It might be corrupt. It happens.
You could also try this. With the BookSense powered off, remove the
card. Now, turn it on, and insert it. The BookSense is different
from any other gadget I have seen that uses an SD card. With the
speaker facing up, make sure you insert the card with the rough side
up. This is the end you insert into the unit. I am sure my
instructions are elementary, but there are probably people on list
who have never dealt with an SD card before. When inserting the
card, press it in until it clicks into place. If you have problems
putting it in the slot, you are possibly inserting it the wrong
way. Don't force it into the slot.
