I think we need to assume that GW Micro can do more than just pass along our
suggestions to HIMS. We bought our Booksense from GW Micro after all, and
there must be some financial and contractual relationship between the two
companies. Also, even though the feature request may only be entered into
the database once, it can't hurt for multiple people to make the same
request or to ask for an update to where a request is. This will help GW
Micro and HIMS to prioritize these requests. Just like any other product, if
GW Micro and HIMS realize they may be losing sales because a request isn't
being acted on or a feature doesn't exist then they'll have to decide
whether it's worth their interest to implement such a feature or not, i.e.
is the cost of implementing the feature justified by the increase in sales
and revenue that may result.

HIMS and GW Micro probably won't commit to a schedule on when a particular
feature will be delivered though, and just because we don't hear anything
doesn't mean it isn't being considered or worked on. The Booksense is
obviously still being developed since a new model was recently announced, a
FW update came out not too long ago and the Booksense Buddy was just
released.

Yes, separate volumes settings for the audio content and the text-to-speech
is just one of the features we have requested for almost a year now since
the BookSense was released. We've also asked for a better search method
using the keyboard for text entry, an adjustment to the recording levels
that would prevent distortion when using the internal microphone and
correction of the pronunciation errors in the Neospeech text-to-speech
engine. Unfortunately, GW Micro is not the company that writes the firmware
for the BookSense; they can only pass our suggestions along to HIMS, the
manufacturer. Since we never hear anything directly from HIMS, we don't
know if they will ever implement these and other suggestions we make for
improvement of the BookSense. We also don't know if it does any good to
continue to voice the same complaints a year later, since Raul said that
each bug report and suggestion was only entered into the database once. Is
HIMS still aware that it is important to us to get these things done, and
even more importantly, do they care?

Yes, this is something we have told GWMicro befor. We need to be able to
set a relativistic volume for the Text-to-Speech. currently when I am
llistening to music I have to turn the volume down before I push anything
that activates TTS or I hurt my ears.

We need the capability to set how much higher or lower we want the TTS
volume versus the player level.

Any chance we can get this on the bug list? Also, it would be nice if we
could get back some of the speaker volume we loast when going to 2.0 I had
to buy a set of small Bluetoot speakers to use since the Bookscence voolume
is not loud enough except for in bed at night., and no I don't have a
hearing problem.

Thanks

oo. When I'm using the external speaker, I set the volume to 21 and the
audio player isn't loud enough. The tts is a little too loud.
