If you read through a document that contains a long string of text with no periods such as a list of items, Eloquence behaves as you describe whether using Window-Eyes or another screen reader which shall remain nameless. In fact, I'm not sure it's as much of a problem with Window-Eyes. So far, I am thrilled with the responsiveness of Eloquence with beta 2 on my system. Seems as the longer it reads the slower it gets then it will go back to normal rate then start the process of slowing down again.
