It would also help if laptop manufacturers would use the correct
mappings for keyboards to begin with. The MSI Wind is very bad for this
while the Aspire One is not. Turn on the key describer and hold down the
fn key. Now press the regular slash, the regular semi colon, the regular
p, and the regular zero all while fn-key is held down. One of those is
bound to say that this key is used to route the cursor to the mouse or
whatever. That key will be your plus key since by default when using the
desktop layout, the numpad plus by itself is used for route cursor to mouse.
many thanks.

Thanks so much for your reply.
I tried it again last night: I found that originally I was trying it
with a utility that remapped the capslock to function as the insert key,
but this wasn't working in conjunction with my fn key.
So, I tried it without this utility, but I simply couldn't manage the
control plus the fn key plus some key for the numeric pad, plus the
insert key in the upper right of the keyboard.
It would help laptops emensely if GW would support something other than
insert as the command modifier; then, I think laptop owners could just
manage with the fn key and the desktop layout.

Hi,
I think you can try fn shift and =. Try that and see if that works.

Raol,
When I do this with my Dell Inspiron, I cannot find the equivalent of
numeric pad plus, so I cannot move the mouse pointer to the cursor or
the highlighted control.
Do you know of any solutions, or what key I should be using?
thanks.

Hi. I'd recommend using the desktop keyboard with this fine
machine. You
can then hold down the fn key, it's the second key from the
left, just
to the right of the control key. While held down, use 7 8 9
for numpad 7
8 9, u i o for numpad 4 5 6, and j k l for numpad 1 2 3. So,
to move the
mouse to the top-left, hold down fn key and press the number
7. To read
the current line under the mouse, holding fn key, press the
letter i.
Hope this helps.

Hi there. We've purchased an Acer Netbook Aspire 1 and
it's my first

always, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
