Back when JAWS had scripts and Window-Eyes did not, one of the arguments
posed against scripting, and an argument that was used loudly and often,
was that scripts would be used to add functionality that was never
intended for a screen reader. I find it interesting, therefore, that now
that Window-Eyes has implemented scripting, one of the most talked-about
scripts is one which goes to a site on the Internet and returns weather
forecasts and conditions. Many of the same people who use this script
regularly and rave about it are the same people who accused JAWS users
of wanting non-screen-reader-related functionality. To me, this all
seems very ironic. Thank you.--D.K.
