Maybe I missed the start of this thread. Is gw developing an audio player? I can't imagine any other reason why this subject would be going on the gw list. If they are, I haven't seen the original post.

Seems to me they have enough to keep busy with window-eyes and the sense products as well as anything else they may be selling.

But, if they are developing a player, it would be interesting to read about it.

Subject: Re: GW Micro Developing New Audio Player

I certainly don't feel chained. For one thing, there are wireless
keyboards which make using pc very portable around the home and outside. I transmit the audio via a small fm transmitter listened to via a walkman
style Sangean radio and headphones.
And when portability is needed, a cd can easily be played in any number of
portable players including those in cars.
If anything, the NLS scheme is limiting both in number of titles,
timeliness, and all the rest.
No, I am not saying anything against NLS; but I just don't see anything
strong, beyond nostalgia, familiarity, and personal comfort, with NLS
either.
It is a well done service, an effective use of tax dollars, and provides
much enjoyment to its patrons.
But its slow and painful evolution into digital, now at least a year
behind initial targets, shows clearly where ultimately the service is
headed.
It will remain for a decade or 2 as government entities have a tendency to make certain they survive, but I don't expect that among young patrons it will hold the pull it had among us 3 and 4 decades ago as, at the time, it
more or less was the only game in town.

Do not have your concert first, and then tune your instrument afterwards. Begin
the day with the Word of God
and prayer, and get first of all into harmony with Him.
