Hi Robert. I've seen petitionsabout myspace which is eliminating capcha's for it's users though you need a cellphone and it doesn't eliminate the initial capcha. Conversations have also been held with Facebook and I'm not sure what has happened with twitter. I did see an application for twitter that is suposed to make it "more blind friendly and if I can find it I will post to the list. The capcha problem is way beyond social networks and the firefox program will work for some capcha's not all. Today I was submitting a note to a site for website submission after having submitted to the directory via it's submission form. They contacted me and told me because of the large amount of spam they receive it was necessary for me to use the contact form on the front page. I wrote my note and was ready to send when from beyond the blue came the following: Enter the verification code as it is shown in the box below. This helps prevent automated
submissions.

SubmitWonderful! Guess I have to snag a sighted visitor as many of these are put together in such a way that my wife who has some sight in one eye can't read thWWe need some way that permits any screen reader using any browser to read the capcha's or something. An employer might not want two browsers on his network and he might like iE 8.
If my job includees such things as search engine submission
Oh well back to the unemployment line/maybe.

Oh did I suggest getting rid of protection schemes? Uh, no, I didnt. What I did suggest however, and I will rephrase it, is that if these developers who cook up these schemes were to put on blindfolds, the Internet might be a bit more blind friendly.

But Jim, if you rather do all the adapting in all areas, have at it. In a backward sense, it s the easier path to follow.

By the way, no need to preach about Internet safety. I am all too aware of the pitfalls and traps and all that await the unwary. LOL
