My xp sp3 laptop with all updates is working fine with hibernate and
standby.  This is apparently only an issue on some xp machines.  Of
course hibernate never worked quite right on some xp machines anyway,
but if it worked before maybe they can get ahold of one that is now
broken and find out why.
