Hmm! This story seems like one of these, you will find in weekly journals or
the like - these that always has the footer: Continues in next issue... :D
When reviving from hybernation this morning, WE still did not wake up
automatically. OK, I was prepared, so after a few seconds, I pressed the
hotkey. Funny, but seemed WE was fast asleep. He didn't wake up on one press
of the hotkey, so I gave it another try, pressing the hotkey once more. Now,
WE woke up. Fine! But on my screen now was a window that WE reported had the
title WESPEECH16. That was ALL the info WE would let me have about the
swindow in question. Mouse buttons just plinged and tabbing aroud just
belled at me. Alt, App, or Right-click keys, all to no avail. Pressing
alt-F4, closed the window, and the system runns as normal. Don't have a
clue, what that screen was all about, or why it showed up. Never seen it
before. From the title of it, I deduce it has something to do with WE and
speech, but can't confirm that. Shortly before hybernating last night, I did
have NVDA up and running, but closed it. So, whether this ADDS on to, or
makes the path to a sollution one step shorter, I have no idea. Just want to
share all parts of it, in a hope, that something might do the break-through
for pulling this problem to its very end.

Hybernate and stand by will behave the same. I
believe that anyone who doesn't return to the
login screen will currently have this problem and we are investigating.

Just one new observation, made this morning on my desktop, in conjunction
with this thread:
I didn't leave my PC unused long enough for it to actually hybernate.
Still it got time enough, that it did go into the STANDBY state. When
hitting a key (in my test I just used the CTRL key), The system woke up. I
know for sure, as the hard disk started to spin, and finished it's
(whatever) loading. Still, the WE did not load. Soon as I hit alt-ctrl-w,
we reloaded itself, and here I am, writing this message. Oh, yes, let me
tell you, to make sure of my observation, I did actually try to 'force'
the machine into standby, via the start menu. In other words, the GW micro
staff, might have to search for the root of this problem, even earlier in
the process; since the machine will enter standby mode, a good time before
it will actually hybernate. Wonder if the others on the list, who has
encountered the reviving problem, from hybernate mode, could please try
out, to see if they too have the same loss of WE when coming out of
standby mode. Press start, then u (turn off), then S (standby), and your
system will put itself into the mode, in a sec or so. Please note, that
your fan etc, will still be running, so basically there is little
indication, that standby mode has been activated. You might be able to
hear the hard disk stop spinning. Leave your PC for a few seconds, then
press any key to rewake it; and see if WE loads.
Thanks, everyone.

I have also noticed the same behavior on my Asus netbook, including the
need to actually restart WE.On 6/12/2009 5:34 AM, David wrote:
OK, I cdon't know, if my experience will help here. But I can confirm,
that my Desktop, was in and out of Hybernation, frequently, with WE7.01
running, and no problems at all. WE would load, immediately and
smoothly. When installing the 7.1b1 things changed, and WE consequently
does not load, when coming out of hybernation. I did start NVDA, to
check if there was any error messages, from WE trying to load, but no
such a thing. The system had - in a couple of my tests - only the OE,
and Windows Live running in addition to WE, when entering hybernation.
Coming out, OE and WL had loaded perfectly, but no Æ WE...
I jnust want to make one note her, even if I don't know if it will have
any impact. Yesterday, shortly after installing WE7.1b1, I did make an
update of my microsoft products (Start \ Windows update). It did
download and update my windows, and office installations. I have
noticed, that users have told hybernation working perfectly on one
system, but not the other. Just wonder if this could be due to the
microsoft update (lately) that does some kind of a 'skippy-jump', that
WE doesn't like, hence We will not only hybernate, but simply 'go home
for a good nights sleep'. :) Funny thing is that the hotkey (alt-ctrl-w)
seems to always load WE QUICKLY when this issue happens.
I am running XP PRO SP3, and at least now, have all updates installed :)

We have had other reports of this and are currently working on
duplicating the problem.

Hi all,
This is a new one. Under 7.01, on my Acer Aspire One WE has always
revived correctly when I come out of hybernate or stand by. 7.1-beta1
is not doing so. Settings have not changed, both checkboxes are
checked under start-up options. I can restart WE with the hotkey, but
in multiple trials, it does not revive on its own. Anything else I
should try, or is this a bug?
