This is due to having the keyboard voice off. Therefore the key dictionary
doesn't speak. A script would have to replace the key dictionary when
keyboard voice is off. Otherwise, if all you want is formatting information
you can turn on "Format alert" in the Screen menu of your Word set file.
That way you'd hear any indentation.

I just tested INS-E now and it is a nice feature. My concern is
inadvertently making a format change such as right justify or center
without being aware of it. In that case, I would not know to check the
format with INS-E.
Your info will come in handy sometimes though.
