Just be aware that if you're using global voice and/or voice and verbosity
this will effect all set files (programs) where the voice settings are
global. That's fine if you never want to hear pointers. Otherwise, set
global mode to: "Verbosity only" in your Word set file, then set your
screen, keyboard, and mouse voices as you like, and save the set file.

Hi,
This is a setting in the WE control panel, under the mouse menu. you can
decide if you want the mouse voice on at all, and if so, whether you want
it
to identify the change when the pointer changes, and if so exactly when
you
want to hear about the change.
you probably want the setting which is "voice on with pointer off" .

Chip

HI everybody,
Does anyone know how to stop window eyes from saying app starting, arrow
when you're trying to read a long document for instance? It gets really
annoying sometimes.
Thanks.

Hi Tom and Melissa
I am getting a better understanding of W-E as this conversation
continues.
I will use Format Alert, it is a partial fix. I think Chip may revise
his Word script to make it possible for the formatting to be
announced. As a production typist, it is too time consuming to check
every line to find
any accidental formatting. I don't think I have ever had this problem,
but I like to stay ahead of things.

This is due to having the keyboard voice off. Therefore the key
dictionary doesn't speak. A script would have to replace the key
dictionary when keyboard voice is off. Otherwise, if all you want is
formatting information you can turn on "Format alert" in the Screen
menu of your Word set file. That way you'd hear any indentation.

Hi Karen
I just tested INS-E now and it is a nice feature. My concern is
inadvertently making a format change such as right justify or center
without being aware of it. In that case, I would not know to check
the format with INS-E.
Your info will come in handy sometimes though.
Thanks
Brenda

Brenda,
Have you tried using ins-E to check the element. This key
combination gives you the font size, type and style as well as
justification information.
Just press enter to get out of the dialogue box. You can arrow up
and down to hear each piece of information in this box.
