Greetings,
This is likely because something is physically covering up the edit box.
We are aware that some websites render these controls in such a way as
to make them difficult to read when outside of Browse Mode. We hope to
have this cleaned up and working better in a future version of Window-Eyes.
if you are running Vista or Windows 7, there should be no issues with IE
9 as we can communicate directly with IE controls through UIA.

Steve

Yes, I have the exact same problem. When I left arrow back through my
typed-in text, I get bongs. When I hit the backspace to delete a
character, I get a bong, but the character does delete. I just can't
tell what I have erased unless I use ctrl-shift-a to turn browse mode
on. I've maximized my ie 8 screen, no change. I think I even reinstalled
my ie 8 sets. I also notice when I first hit enter to turn browse mode
off, instead of completely reading the field name I'm editing, it reads
only part of the name, seems the first letter or two of the field name
is not read out by the synthesizer. While browse mode is off, when I hit
tab to go to the next filed to enter data into, WE again misses reading
the first couple letters of the new field I'm about to edit.
I don't recall having this problem when I first installed 7.5 or 7.5.1,
which is what I'm using now. It just seemed to start happening a couple
months ago. It's rather bothersome.

Mode Off
Richard,
what happens if you redraw the screen with Insert-Backslash?

I bet this question has been answered, but I don't recall the answer
and don't find anything when I scroll through past messages.
In IE 8, when I'm filling out text fields with browse mode off, on
some sites, I cannot move through the field with the cursor to review
what I've typed. I've maximized the window, but that doesn't change
anything. There's nothing unique about the sites or page
configuration that I can determine. Has anyone else experienced this?
If so, is there a solution?
